To find : 3 rational numbers between \frac{-5}{6} and \frac{-3}{4}

Solution:

  • According question we have to find rational numbers between  \frac{-5}{6} and \frac{-3}{4} for this we need to equalize denominators of the rational numbers by taking LCM.
  • Therefore, LCM = 12
  • Now, multiplying numerators by same numbers as multiplied by denominator to make LCM .
  • We get, \frac{-5}{6}=\frac{-5 \times 2}{12}=\frac{-10}{12} and \frac{-3}{4}=\frac{-3 \times 3}{12}=\frac{-9}{12}
  • writing the above obtained fraction as multiple of 10 , therefore we get,

        \frac{-100}{120} and \frac{-90}{120}

  • Now, we can find rational numbers between \frac{-100}{120} and \frac{-90}{120}
  • They are :\frac{-91}{120}, \frac{-92}{120}, \frac{-93}{120}

Hence, 3 rational numbers between  \frac{-5}{6} and \frac{-3}{4} are \frac{-91}{120}, \frac{-92}{120}, \frac{-93}{120} .
