2 lamps one rated 100W at 220V, and the other 60W at 220V are connected in parallel to electric mains supply. what current is drawn from the line if the supply voltage is 220V

(1) current taken by 100 watt lamp is P1/V= 100/220= 0.454 ampere

(2) current taken by 60 watt lamp is P2/V= 60/220= 0.272 ampere

(3) Total current drawn from the line is 0.454 +0.272 = 0.726 ampere.
