Chemical Change :

A change which involves a chemical reaction and formation of new substances with new chemical properties is called Chemical Change.

Examples :

  • cooking of food
  • ripening of fruits
  • rusting of iron objects
  • tarnishing of copper articles, etc.

Physical Change :

A change in which the physical form or property changes but the chemical composition is same and there is formation of no new substances is called Physical Change.

Example :

  • freezing of water
  • boiling of water
  • cutting of paper
  • moulding of clay dough, etc.
