Answer:
Zoji La is a high mountain pass in that is located in the National Highway 1.
It is said to be important as this was was seized during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 by Pakistani supported invaders in 1948. This happened during their campaign to capture Ladakh.
However, the pass was re-captured by Indian forces on 1 November. There was an assault codenamed Operation Bison, which was a success.
This pass also separates Kashmir Valley to its west from Dras Valley to its northeast.
