Required solution :

Let the angle vertically opposite angle to ( 3x + 45° ) be y

Now by corresponding angle property we have

• y = ( 8x - 5 ) °

Also , we know that y and ( 3x + 45 )° are equal by vertically opposite angle property

• 3x + 45 = 8x - 5

• 45 + 5 = 8x - 3x

• 50 = 5x

• $\sf\dfrac{50}{5}\:=\:x$

• x = 10
