1) The poet begins by saying that the tiger has only a few steps to walk around in his cage. He contrasts this with the vast areas of land the tiger should be lurking in around the jungle. The poet further says that the tiger should be sliding through the long grass in the wild.
2) Fire' stands for fury, desire, lust, anger, avarice, cruelty, greed. Ice is symbolic of hatred, coldness, ... The general opinion regarding the world is that the world will end in fire and some say in ice.
3) The central idea around which the entire poem revolves is that only love, equality, mutual understanding and sympathy for one and all can help in establishing peace on the Earth. The poet mentions that both fire and ice are probable ends of this world.
4) The poet uses uncommon bird and tree in the poem because it creates a good effect. This reflects the positivity created by negative things i.e., the black crow is a sign of sorrow or death and hemlock tree is a poisonous tree.
5) The crow changes the mood of the poet by shaking the dust of snow from the Hemlock tree by which the poet get relaxed and was thankful for nature for having his day nice from being wasted. The crow lifted the depressing mood of the poet and gives him an enlighted insight.
