Answer:

We are given that 2 men do the work in 1 6 days.

So, Work done by 2 men in 1 day =1/16

Now, Work done by 1 man in 1 day = 1/(16∗2)= 1/32 days.

Similarly, Work done by 1 woman in 1 day can be found out and it is 1/48

Now, Work done by 4 men in 1 day = 4/32= 1/8

Work done by 6 women in 1 day =6/48= 1/ 8

Now, Work done by 4 men and 6 women in 1 day = 1/8+1/8=2 /8

Work done by 4 men and 6 women in 1 day = 1 /4

So, 4 men and 6 men do 1 /4 of work in 1 day.

So, to complete the work, it will take them 4 /1 days.

We Just inverse the fraction found above. This is the beauty of Unitary Method.

So, the total time taken is 4 days

Second Method:

2 men and 3 women can finish a work in 16 days.

4 men and 6 women can finish in how many days=x

2*3*16=4*6*x

x=2*3*16/4*6

x=16/4

x=4 days.
