Explanation:

In my opinion, feminism defines as helping society to be a more equal place, where men and women join hands without discrimination against both genders, while respecting the opinions and actions done by each side.

However, some argue that feminism must exist because of ‘men’, as they abused women through the past decades. One example is the 60’s in America, when women were often portrayed as housewives. With girls marrying in their 20’s, they ought to start a family to devote their lives to housework, they didn’t have much rights. In fact, 38% of women had limited jobs, such as nurses and secretaries. An average woman spent about 55 hours in a week doing chores and taking care of family members (Tavaana, 2014). Back then, the feminist groups didn’t have such large communities. On the contrary, men always abused women and treated them like tools.

Explanation:

feminism is about all genders having equal rights and opportunities, it's about respecting diverse women's experiences, identities, knowledge and strengths, and striving to empower all women to realise their full rights.
