Gmelan is the traditional Indonesian music which comprises various types of orchestra. Tough different from one another they all share a common organization. Gmelan is “a form of unique and exotic music originating in the islands of Indonesia in South East Asia. Gmelan music is played on an orchestra consisting primarily of metal-keyed percussion instruments ("metallophones") and gongs, bt also including hand or stick drums, futes, ad occasionally also bowed instruments and bamboo rattles. ”(Gamelan Swarasanti). Gmelan is characterized wth several musical instruments like gong, xlophone, mtallophone, fute, sringed instruments, cmbals, dums etc to create rhythmic patterns that entwine in the form of well-knit sound flow.
