2 minute speech on natural resources for ASL grade 11
Answers
Imagine a world without water, tree, oil, and food. Imagine that you are living in a world with all artificial food, artificial water, and artificial air to breath in. Can you imagine such world? Not -Right? Well you wouldn't even exist to imagine such world as earth's very existence is due to water, and air. What is this water, air, tree, forest? These resources on which humans have been dependent since the beginning of evolution are "Natural Resources". It is said to be a water in which the very first life-form was developed.
We are so much dependent on these natural resources that we tap into these supplies without even realizing the use of it. Your furniture wood, recreational spots, fuel, air, water, rocks, minerals, food to name a few of it. Even if just one single item of these list is taken away, it will be a chaos everywhere. For example, a desert region from which water has been taken away, the vegetation, soil, animals, and even the air in this region are differently affected in comparison to other region.
Within the natural resources, we have renewable resources, and non-renewable resources. Renewable resources are the resources that are available constantly, and can be easily replenished or recovered such as animals, vegetation. non-renewable resources are the resources that cannot be easily replaced once consumed. For example, fossil fuel. It would take millions of years to replace the natural gas once we consume what's currently available.
These resources, regardless of renewable or non-renewable, are not uniformly distributed throughout the world. These uneven distribution has somewhat contributed in the creation of world powers. For example, US has the largest coal reserve in the world, while Australia is the largest exporter of the coal. Middle east gulf countries are rich in crude oil supply and produce whopping 31% of entire world's production. This uneven distribution also contributes in development of tourism industry such as tons of tourist visit Amazon rain forest from which Brazil and Peru makes lot of income.
But in today's world, nothing is perfect. Overpopulation, Global warming/climate change, and pollution are the alarming factors that are biggest threat to these resources. We are consuming our resources at a speed like never before and this has threatened the demand of some of the non-renewable resources. If not controlled and looked to manage soon enough, time is not far where there would be a war to get hands on this resources. Thus it is extremely important to properly manage the consumption of this resources and prepare alternative resources.
2 Minute speech on natural resources for Asl class 11th with conclusion
Good morning everyone. Today, I am going to express my views on the crucial topic of the frugal and wise use of natural resources. Our natural resources are not only precious, they are invaluable! Man has been so much engrossed in his progress and prosperity; he does not have time to see the irreparable damage that he is doing to the health of planet earth. The present rate at which the natural resources are being used is quite alarming. The rate of consumption is faster than the rate of their natural replenishment. If the rate of consumption is not reduced, soon all the natural resources will be used up. There won't be left anything for the coming generations. Now the question arises; "Are we to leave a scorched planet to the coming generations?" We will be called highly selfish generation, if we don't leave any natural resources for the future generations. We need to put our acts together. We must follow the principles of sustainable development. After all it is our responsibility to bequeath a healthy and prosperous planet. Being parents it is our moral responsibility. Let's take care of our planet and use the natural resources wisely and frugally! Let's allow the natural processes of the planet to replenish the over-exhausted and over exploited natural resources. Let's create more forests as they supply us with life-giving oxygen. Let's not compel rhinos, tigers, elephants, and other endangered species to become extinct. Let's stop killing whales and other fish. Let's take all the required measures, otherwise we won't be able to handle the man-made apocalypse of our own planet. Let's be wiser; let's go green!
The need of the hour is conserving and preserving the natural resources of our planet. This task is quite Herculean. There is an estimate that the earth is losing one and half acres of forests in one second. Similar exploitation prevails in fisheries, croplands, and grasslands. The only solution to the critical environmental issues is people’s mass participation in saving the natural resources. Mass forestation drive, and reckless use of fossil fuels altogether can solve this problem.
There are other alternative fuels available. The government must act strictly. There should be a ban on exploitation of natural resources. Strict action must be taken against the culprits. The consumption of the natural resources must not deteriorate the environment in any manner. Toxic emissions of industries must be strictly regularized. Installation of toxic smoke and effluents treatment plants must be mandatory at every industrial unit. With these measures strictly and immediately implemented the environmental health will improve considerably.
If we succeed in implementing all the above mentioned measures, we will be the beneficiaries; our coming generations will be able to receive this wealth of natural resources from us. This will be our best gift to them, as well as us. If we fail, we won’t be able to bequeath them abundant natural resources.
