Speech on Urbanisation in India!

Urbanisation is the process by which large number of people becomes permanently concentrated in small areas forming cities. The definition of a city or an urban area changes from time to time and place to place.

Urbanisation refers to increase in urban population. Urbanisation is not a modern phenomenon. Infact it is a continous process which dates back to the indus valley civilisation, when cities and towns started coming up.

Urbanisation is considered beneficial because of better opportunity for earning higher incomes, better infrastructure and better awareness and response of people to social issues in general. Urabanisation thereby contributes to modernisation and social change. The birth rate, the death rate, IMR and fertility rates are lower in urban areas than in rural areas.

Urbanisation is the growth of the population in urban areas due to the increase in the number of immigrants from rural areas. A lot of people get accustomed to living in towns and cities rather than rural areas and countryside. They migrate in search for better quality of life as modern urbanisation offers a lot of job opportunities too. And it makes the life of urban people even easier with lots of facilities around.
Due to this there is always an increase in the percentage of the urban population. Nowadays most of the urban cities are overcrowded. It attracts many people due to its good infrastructure. Even industrialisation also leads to urbanisation as an important aspect. Thus, I will conclude by saying that the urban population should be controlled to avoid a lot of problems caused everyday life traffic jam, accidents etc...
