Yoga is an ancient Indian practice for meditation, which evolved since BCE. Yoga is a set of poses or postures of the body called "Asana". There is a prescribed method to set oneself on the ground, to make the posture with the legs, hands, head and the entire body. Asanas had been explored, invented and documented in books.
Yoga asanas are performed slowly, held for a minute or more. The muscles are exercised in the right way. One should not perform yoga after having food ie., with full stomach. Breathing in and breathing out air (called pranayama) is also part of Yoga. Yoga is very useful to people who cannot play sports or do jogging or do other demanding exercises like aerobics to keep fit.
Yoga increases the health of body, mind. Increases the mind power, concentration. Keeps the organs and limbs in the body fit. Many gurus including Patanjali developed the Yoga practice.
