2 ml of sodium hydroxide solution is added to a few pieces of granulated zinc metal taken in a test tube when the contents are warmed a gas evolves which is world through a soap solution before testing write the equation of the chemical reaction involved and the test tube to detect the gas name the gas which will be evolved when the same metal react with dilute solution of strong acid

Answer:

Hey Bro!!

Here's your answer

When sodium hydroxide reacts with granulated zinc it produces sodium zincate + hydrogen gas

Reaction is as follows:-

2NaOh+Zn----->(Heating) Na2ZnO2+H2

When the gas that is hydrogen is bubbled through soap solution and matchstick is put in front of it then it will make a Pop sound and blow off.

Now, Let strong acid be HCl

Then Hydrochloric acid when reacted with Zinc metal will give zinc chloride + hydrogen gas

The reaction is followed :-

HCl + Zn ---->ZnCl2 + H2

Or

pH of salt is 14

So the salt must be Sodium Hydogen Carbonate

NaHCO3

REACTION :-

NaCl + H2O + NH3 + CO2 --------> NH4Cl + NaHCO3

Sodium Hydrogencarbonate
