Using stoichiometry, we can say that:-
Firstly write the equation
2H2 + O2 ---> 2H20
Two moles of H2 reacts with 1 mole of oxygen to get 2 moles of water.
1 mole of water = 18g
54 g = 3 moles.
2 g of H2 provides 36 g of water
----- g of H2 provides 54 g of water
cross multiply, 54 x 2/36 = 3 g of H2 is the answer.
