2 moles of pcl5 are heated to equilibrium in a closed vessel at constant temperature. if the degree of dissociation is 0.5.detemine the total number of moles in the equilibrium mixture

                    PCl5   ↔    PCl3  +   Cl2Initial            C                   0              0             At equil.   C(1−α)           Cα           CαTotal number of moles at equilibrium = C(1−α)+Cα+Cα=C(1+α)Here, α= 0.5C=2Therefore, Total number of moles= 2(1+0.5)=2(1.5)=3mol
