Birds and fish are not the only animals that lay eggs. Insects, turtles, lizards, and reptiles lay eggs, too. Only two mammals lay eggs: the platypus and the echidna. All other mammals give birth to live babies.

Turtles - Turtles are reptiles of the order Testudines, also known as Chelonia. They are characterized by a bony or cartilaginous shell, developed from their ribs, that acts as a shield. Testudines include both extant and extinct species. Among the turtles are included tortoises and terrapins.

Platypus - The platypus, sometimes referred to as the duck-billed platypus, is a semiaquatic, egg-laying mammal endemic to eastern Australia, including Tasmania. The platypus is the sole living representative of its family and genus, though a number of related species appear in the fossil record.

Hope it helped
