let the smaller no. be y

a/q,
x-y=3---(1)

again, a/q,
3x+2y=19---(2)

multiplying 3 to (1)
3x-3y=9----(3)

(2)-(3)

3x+2y=19
3x-3y=9
---------------
5y=10
y=2

using y=2 in (1)
x-y=3
x=3+y
x=3+2
x=5

thus, x=5 and y=2
