2 numbers are in ratio 7:11. if their sum is 306, find the 2  numbers.

Consider the numbers 7x and 11x,

   Then, 7x+11x =306
               18x      = 306
                    x     =  306÷18
                    x     = 17

Ans the numbers are 7 (17) , 11 (17) ie. 119 and 187

let the two numbers be  7x and 11x 
 their sum is 7x+11x =18x 
 but here it is given that their sum is 306 .
this implies ,  18x = 306
         or ,        x = 306÷18 = 17 

so the numbers are :-
7x= 7×17=119 and 11x= 11×17=127
