Given:

Two quantities 20 paise and 2 rupees.

To Find:

The ratio of the two quantities is?

Solution:

1. The ratio of two quantities a and b is calculated by using the formula (a/b). The ratio of a and b is denoted as a:b.

=> a:b simply implies a/b.

2. The given quantities are 20 paise and 2 rupees. The units of the two quantities are different. Hence, we have to make the units similar.

=> The value of 1 rupee is 100 paise,

=> The value of 2 rupees is 200 paise,

=> The ratio of 2 rupees and 20 paise is,

=> 2 rupees/ 20 paise,

=> 200 paise/ 20 paise, ( Units are same hence operation can be performed  ).

=> 10/1.

3. 2 rupees / 20 paise = 10 : 1

Therefore, the ratio of 2 rupees to 2 rupees is 10:1.
