To Find :

The Numbers

Solution :

\textbf{\small{\underline{Consider the -}}}

  • Smaller Number as x
  • Greater Number as 5x

\rule{300}{1.5}

\textbf{\small{\underline{According to the Question - }}}

When 18 is subtracted from greater number the difference is equal to 3 times smaller number.

\boxed{5x-18=3x}

\longrightarrow \: 5x  -  18 = 3x

\longrightarrow \: 5x - 3x = 18

\longrightarrow \: 2x = 18

\longrightarrow \: x =  \dfrac{18}{2}

\longrightarrow \: x = 9

The Smaller Number is 9.

\rule{300}{1.5}

Value of 5x

\longrightarrow \: 5 \times 9

\longrightarrow \: 45

Greater Number is 45

\therefore The Smaller Number is 9 and greater number is 45.
