2 Oranges and 5 Mangoes cost Rs. 260. 6 oranges and 3 mangos cost Rs. 180. Then Find the cost of

2 orages and 3 mangoes.​

The cost of 2 oranges and 3 mangoes is Rs. 160

Given :- cost of 2 orange and 5 mangoes = 260

cost of 6 orange and 3 mangoes = 180

To find :- Cost of 2 oranges and 3 mangoes

Solution:-

• Let x be cost of 1 orange .
• Let y be cost of 1 mango .

• Now from condition 1 ,

2x+ 5y = 260 ---- 1

So

$x \: = \: ( \: 260 - 5y \: ) \div \: 2$

• From condition 2 ,

6x + 3y = 180 ----- 2

• on putting value of x from equation 1 in equation 2

$3 \: ( \: 260 - 5y \: ) \: + \: 3y \: = \: 180$

• On solving it equation

x = 5 ; y = 50

• Now cost of 2 oranges and 3 mangoes

$2x + 3y = (2 \times 5) + (3 \times 50) = 160$

• Cost = Rs. 160
