Explanation:

People make what the country is…not governments, not policies…its what the people in this country believe and do that makes a country, yes, even India – great!

We can complain about everything around us… yet we live here, make our living, live our lives – good or bad being relative…there are problems in every country – social, economic and political.

There are examples of countries across the globe – that have risen from the depths of despair, grappling with issues which were innate and inherent to their bane yet they rose above it all and made themselves “great” nations.

Today, we have social, personal and professional media to voice our opinions about things – freedom of speech people say is fundamental constitutional right…yet we don’t use this right frugally – to express our gratitude towards the nation.

We tend to voice our negativity about the issues we grapple with yet turn a blind eye or ignorant to events around us – cleanliness, demonetization, pollution, education …you name it.Every “hot topic” becomes our excuse to voice our opinions, yet we don’t do anything…except criticizing between haves and have nots…

The question we need to ask ourselves is - will this make our nation great?

There are two phrases in English language – “Inspite of” and “Despite of” and in the making of a great nation, I will use the word “inspite of “ (despite of has a negative connotation)…Inspite of all the issues we have as a nation we still boast of being the youngest nation in the world, have the biggest GDP growth in the world, attract the biggest chunk of FDI and investments in the world, have some of the highest Market cap companies or valued companies in the world….INDIA is a "social chatter" and "buzzword" across the world …that makes our nation great !

I believe the true test of time is not of our country but for the citizens in it…we need to take our role as citizens to the next level…we are after all the biggest democracy in the world…and we the citizens made it the biggest democracy in the world…

For the impertinence of sounding preachy here, I think its time we lend a hand as a citizen and make INDIA – truly a great country!

I recall the Ad in the context of my post “Kitna Deti Hai…” versus “Kitna Dete Ho…” is only difference of vowels but the meaning is a lot more…for us to delve into!
