Two parallel tangents are drawn at end of the diameter..
hence, the distance between two tangent is a length of diameter
thus,d=2r
d= 2×4
d=8 cm

The distance between both parallel is equal to the diameter of circle .because both parallel tangent are at opposite to each other and present at opposite side of circle.
so ,4 × 2 = 8
