In 13.33 days the second person will complete the remaining work.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that the second person will paint the remaining part of the wall (i.e. 2/3 part) in x days.

Now, in 1 day he will complete \frac{2}{3x} part of the total wall.

Again, the first person does \frac{1}{3} part of wall in 10 days,

So, in 1 day he will complete \frac{1}{30} part of the wall.

So, working together in 1 day they will do (\frac{1}{30} + \frac{2}{3x} ) = \frac{20 + x}{30x} part of the wall.

So, the whole wall will be painted in \frac{30x}{20 + x} days.

Given that, \frac{30x}{20 + x} = 12

⇒ 30x = 240 + 12x

⇒ 18x = 240

x = 13.33 days.

So, in 13.33 days the second person will complete the remaining work. (Answer)
