Top of the ladder rests along a wall at a height of 3.2 m from the ground.
Its lower end is at a distance of 2.4 m from the wall. Find the length of
ladder.

Answer:

AB=height of the window from the ground=3.2m=320 cm

BC=distance between the base of the wall and the ladder=2.4m=240 cm

AC=length of the ladder

so by applying Pythagoras theorem we get

AC²=AB²+BC²

AC²=320²+240²=102400+57600=160000

AC=√160000=400cm=4m

so the length of the ladder is 4 metre
