Given :
- 2 poles of height 9m and 14m stand vertically on a plane ground.If the distance between their feet is 12m
To find :
- the distance between their tops
Solution :
AB = AD - CE ( CD = BD = 9)
AB = AD - BD
AB = 14 - 9
AB = 5 m
now,
ΔABC apply phythagoran theorem
AC² = AB² + BC²
AC² = 5² + 12²
AC² = 25 + 144
AC² = 169
AC = √169
AC = 13
∴ Top distance is 13 cm
