Answer:

x = 2

Explanation:

W / q = V final - V initial

18 / q = 100 - 10

18 / q = 90

q = 1/5

x/10 = 1/5

x/10 = 2/10

x = 2

Given: potential at point A, V₁ = 10V

           potential at point B, V₂ = 100V

           Work done , W = 18 J

            Charge, q = X / 10 C

To Find: X

Solution:

To calculate X, the formula used;

  • Work done = potential difference x charge
  •               W = ΔV x q
  • Here, ΔV = V₂ - V₁

∴ W = (V₂ - V₁) x q

Applying the above formula:

18 = (100-10) x ( X/10)

18 = 90 x (X/10)

18/90 = X/10

1/5 = X/10

(1/5) x 10 = X

2 = X

X = 2

Hence, the vaue of X is 2 .
