Answer:

let age of father= y

let the of son = x

given

3x-1=y............eq1

y+12= 2x...........eq2

subtract eq2 with eq1

2x-12= y

3x- 1= y

we get,

-x-11= 0 = x=11

then y= 3 x 11-1 = 32

let \: the \: age \: of \:the \: son = x \: years \\ father's \: age = 3x - 1

age \: of \: son \: after \: 12 \: years = 12 \: years \\ x + 12

father's \: age \: after \: 12 \: years \\  = 3x - 1 + 12 \\ 2(x + 12) = 3x - 1 + 12

2x + 24 = 3x + 11 \\  - x =  - 13

therefore \: x = 13
