3+2√5=a/b

2√5=a/b - 3

taking LCM on the right side,

2√5= a-3b /b

now, √5 = 1/2 X a-3b /b

→ √5= a-3b/2b

left hand side we have an irrational number and right side we have rational number .Since, irrational number cant be equal to a rational number so it is a contradiction, our supposition is wrong and hence, 3+ 2√5 is an irrational number.
