Percentages:
A percent Is a fraction with denominator 100. i.e 1/100
Per cent is derived from Latin word ‘per centum’ meaning ‘per hundred’.
It is denoted by % symbol
1% means 1/100= .01
Some Conversion rule of percentage:
Rule 1. To convert a percentage into fraction:
Write the number as the numerator and 100 as the denominator and then reduced fraction to its simplest form.
Rule 2. Convert a fraction or ratio into a percentage:
Multiply the fraction by 100 & add the % symbol.
Rule3 : To convert a percentage into decimal:
Remove the% sign and shift the decimal point in the number by two places to the left.
Rule 4:
Convert a decimal into percentage:
Shift decimal point in the number by two places to the right and add% sign.

percentage of 3:4= (3/4) x 100 ( on multiplying by 100)
% of 3:4 = 3 x 25 = 75 %
% of 3:4 = 75 %
b)
percentage of 2:3= (2/3) x 100 ( on multiplying by 100)
% of 2:3 = 200/3 = 66 2/3%
% of 2:3 = 66 2/3 %
