2. Read the following story and identify the types of the highlighted sentences.
Once upon a time, on a hot summer's day, a grasshopper singing to its heart's content. It
hopped and chirped all day long in his field. His neighbour was an ant. They were good
friends. While the grasshopper was having a lot of fun playing, singing and dancing in the
sun, the ant was hard working. It was collecting food grains and storing them in its house
for the winter.
The grasshopper did not understand why the ant was working through such a lovely season
and kept making fun of him. "Hey! Ant! Why don't you come outside and play with me?
he asked. The ant replied, "I cannot. I am storing food for the winter when there won't
be anything to eat! Listen to me. You should do so too." The grasshopper laughed at the
ant and said, "Why are you worrying now? There is plenty of food! I am not going to work
now." The ant shook its head and continued its work.
Then winter came. The grasshopper could not find a single grain of food to eat. It began to
starve and feel very weak. The ant saw the grasshopper looking weak and offered to share
its ration. The grasshopper remembered how the hardworking ant had stored plenty of
food to eat. It realized its foolishness. "I am sorry, dear Ant," it said. "I should have listened
to you. Will you forgive me for making fun of you? From now on, I will be a responsible and
hardworking grasshopper."
