Once there were two friends in a village. Their names were Ravi and
Rahul. One day both of them set out on a journey. As they were passing
through a forest, they saw a big bear coming towards them. They were
afraid of him. Ravi at once climbed up a nearby tree to save his life,
without thinking about Rahul's safety. Rahul did not know how to climb
up a tree. But he was wise. He had heard that bears do not touch the
dead. He lay on the ground, held his breath and appeared to be dead.
The bear sniffed his body and thinking him dead, went away. When the bear had gone away,
Rahul got on his feet. Ravi also came down the tree. He asked Rahul what the bear had
whisphered in his ear. Rahul said that the bear had advised him to beware of false friends.
