Heya...

The 6th Century is surely a great boon for India as two new Religions were found in this century. The two mortal lords found their religions, that is, Buddhism and Jainism.
Buddhism was founded by Lord Buddha and Jainism By Lord Mahavira...

It also attempted in building greater kingdoms filled with Non Violence, peace and knowledge.

The foundation of these two religions lead to the rise of new Religious thoughts.

The people were so greatly affected by the religions that crime almost stopped, no animals were killed and love and affection for others were greatly risen. The Caste system nearly ended and Equality in both the genders was at its peak...

Hope it helps ya :)

Two religious doctrines propounded during the 6th century are Jainism and Buddhism. Founded by lord Mahavira and Gautam Buddha, these two religions brought great reform and a sense of awakening in the minds of the people who expressed doubts over the existing religious conditions.
During the later vedic period, the religion lost its inner substance And became more of an external show, more of rigid rituals and practices. People started believing in superstitions. More and more Gods were worshipped.
But then came these two, and showed people the real meaning of religion and faith. The new sects preached livelihood based mostly on alms. They believed in strict vegetarian diets and abstained from animal sacrifice. The followers of these religions were asked to give up desire and luxuries of life and follow a middle path. They revolted against material life and hence became very popular.
