Hey Dear,

● Answer -

Combined length = 4.1±0.3 m

◆ Explanation -

# Given -

a = 1.8 m

∆a = 0.2 m

b = 2.3 m

∆b = 0.1 m

# Solution -

Mean combined length of two rods is given by -

x = a + b

x = 1.8 + 2.3

x = 4.1 m

Mean absolute error of two rods is given by -

∆x = ∆a + ∆b

∆x = 0.2 + 0.1

∆x = 0.3 m

Error limits are calculated by -

x - ∆x = 4.1 - 0.3 = 3.8 m

x + ∆x = 4.1 + 0.3 = 4.4 m

Therefore, combined lenth of two rods wipp be 4.1±0.3 m with error limits 3.8 m to 4.4 m.

Thanks for asking..
