shopkeeper buys rice at 150 ruppes per 10 kg

150 ruppes per 10 kg means cost of 10 kg rice is 150 ruppes

therefore cost of 1 kg rice =150/10ruppes

=15 ruppes

he sells the rice at 165 ruppes per 10 kg

Again this means selling price of 10 kg rice=165 ruppes

therefore selling price of 1kg rice =165/10ruppes

=16.5 ruppes

as selling price>cost price ,he made a profit on the rice

gain =selling price - cost price

=16.5-15 ruppes= 1.5 ruppes

gain percentage=gain/cost price×100

=1.5/15×100=10%
