Answer:

1. The difference between biogas and natural gas is that the biogas is a renewable source of energy whereas the natural gas is a non-renewable source of energy. Biogas is a naturally occurring gas that forms from the breakdown of organic matter in the presence of anaerobic bacteria while natural gas is a naturally.

2. The term ferrous is derived from the Latin word ferrum and means that the metal compound contains iron.Metals with only trace amounts of iron in their composite are not classed as ferrous.

Non-ferrous metals don’t contain a significant amount of iron and are more desirable as they have conductive, non-magnetic, and low weight properties.

3. Conventional sources of energy are the natural energy resources which are present in a limited quantity and are being used for a long time. They are called non-renewable sources as once they are depleted, they cannot be generated at the speed which can sustain its consumption rate.

4. Mining is the process of extracting buried material below the earth surface. Quarrying refers to extracting materials directly from the surface. In mining and quarrying, water is used and gets polluted in a range of activities, including mineral processing, dust suppression, and slurry transport.

Give reason -

1. Petroleum is referred to as 'black gold' because when crude oil is extracted from the land it is black in colour. People call it gold because of its oils and value. It is very difficult to find.

2. Coal is used as main source of energy in most of the industries that is why the most industries are concentrated around coal mines saving the cost of transportation of coal.

3. Quarrying can become a major environmental concern because it may destroy the humus of soil which is much required for the growth of plants. It produces a lot of noise pollution due to use of explosives in order to break the huge chunks of rocks.

4. Agriculture is a primary activity. It includes growing crops, fruits, vegetables, flowers and rearing of livestock. In the world, 50 per cent of persons are engaged in agricultural activity. Two-thirds of India’s population is still dependent on agriculture.

This is due to lack of employment as the sucessive goverment in the country has failed to provide so.
