2. Show that any positive odd integer is of the form 4q + 1 or 4q + 3 where q is a positive integer

Answer:

Suppose take q as 100

therefore putting the value q as 100 we get ,

4×100+1

=401

which is an odd positive number

And to show it

4q+1=401

=>4q=401-1

=> 4q=400

=>q=400/4

q=> 100

therefore any positive odd integer is of the form 4q+1 .

The same rules are applied for 4q+3.
