2. Solve the following equations by the trial and error method.
a) 2x + 10 = 18

Method I

2x+10=18

2x+10- 10=18-10

2x=8

2x/2=8/2

x=4

Method II

2x+10= 18

2x= 18-10

2x= 8

x= 8/2

x= 4

2x + 10 is in LHS .and after = and 18 is in RHS

so that +10 will go in RHS side then it will turn into 18-10 then the answer is 8

now the 2fromx will go to RHS side then it will turn into 8/2 it is divisible by 2 then it will cut and the answer is x=4 easy
