Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1) 2x - 6 = 14 - 3x

5x = 20

X = 4

2) 5x + 7x - 14 = 3 - 4x - 24

12x - 14 = - 4x - 21

16x = - 7

X= -7/16

Sorry if I'm wrong

Answer:

i. x = 4

ii. x = -7/16    ||  Decimal x = -0.4375

Step-by-step explanation:

i.

  • 2(x - 3) = 14 - 3x
  • 2x - 6 = 14 - 3x
  • 2x - 6 + 6 = 14 -3x + 6
  • 2x = -3x + 20
  • 2x + 3x= -3x + 20 + 3x
  • 5x = 20
  • 5x/5 = 20/5
  • x = 4

ii.

  • 5x + 7(x - 2) = 3 - 4(x + 6)
  • 5x + 7x - 14 = 3 - 4(x + 6)
  • 12x - 14 = 3 - 4(x + 6)
  • 12x - 14 = -4x - 21
  • 12x - 14 + 14 = -4x - 21 + 14
  • 12x = -4x - 7
  • 12x + 4x = -4x - 7 + 4x
  • 16x = -7
  • 16x/16 = -7/16
  • x = -7/16
