Answer:

Let be width is= b

length is= 3b

perimeter of rectangle is = 2×(L+B)=Rectangle

2×(3b+b)= 96

3b+b= 4b

4b×2= 8b

b=96/8

width = 12

length = 36

Question :-

to find length and breadth of a rectangle.

Solution :-

  • Given :
  1. Perimeter of rectangle - 96 cm
  2. Length is 3 times it's width.

Perimeter of rectangle - 2×( l + b )

So, here

  • Width be x
  • length = 3x ( 3 times of width )

According to equation :

:  \implies2\sf \times( x + 3x) = 96

\sf : \implies \: 2 \times 4x = 96

\sf : \implies8x = 96

 : \implies\sf \: x =  \frac{96}{8}

\bf \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \: x = 12

so, x = Width. and Length = 3x.

\bf \:  \:  \: width \:  = 12 \\ \bf \:  \:  \: length = 3 \times x = 3 \times 12 = 36

Let's Verify :

\sf \: 2 \times (l + b)

 =  > \sf \: 2 \times (12 + 36)

 =  > \sf \: 2 \times 48

 =  > \bf \: 96 \: cm

Did it !!
