Answer:

Firstly Multiply a+5b=22 by 3

So it gives 3a+15b=66

Eq..2-4

3a+15b=66

3a+5b=26

This gives 10b=40

which means b=4

By using value of b

3a+5b=26

3a+20=26

3a=6

a=2

So the values are a=2 and b=4

Solution

Given :-

  • equation are, 3a + 5b = 26 ------(1)
  • a + 5b = 22 -------(2)

Find :-

  • Value of a & b

Explanation

Using Elimination Method

For this, subtract equ(1) & equ(2)

==> 3a - a = 26 - 22

==> 2a = 4

==> a = 4/2

==>a = 2

Keep Value of a in equ(2)

==> 2 + 5b = 22

==> 5b = 22 - 2

==> 5b = 20

==>b = 20/5

==> b = 4

Hence

  • Value of a = 2
  • Value of b = 4
