DURING LAM (LACTATION AMENORRHEA METHOD) ENOUGH AMOUNT OF FSH AND LH ARE NOT PRODUCED BY THE PITUITARY GLAND WHICH IS NOT ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THE PROCESS OF OVULATION . HENCE THE OVULATION AND MENSURATION DOES NOT OCCURS  . WHICH IN TURN ACTS AS A NATURAL CONTRACEPTIVE FOR A MOTHER.

Breastfeeding inhibits conception by suppressing the hormones necessary for ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary). The chemicals that prevent ovulation can be stimulated by a baby's constant sucking. There would be no conception if the body does not produce eggs. As a result, breastfeeding is an effective method of birth control. Lactational amenorrhea is a natural method of contraception that involves regular and frequent nursing.
