Answer:a

a) During electrolysis: Pb 2+ ions gain electrons at the cathode and become Pb atoms. Br - ions lose electrons at the anode and become Br atoms, which pair up to form Br 2 molecules.

b)If water is acidified with a little dilute sulfuric acid: H + ions are attracted to the cathode , gain electrons and form hydrogen gas. OH - ions are attracted to the anode , lose electrons and form oxygen gas.

c)The anode (positive electrode ) is made from impure copper and the cathode (negative electrode) is made from pure copper. During electrolysis, the anode loses mass as copper dissolves, and the cathode gains mass as copper is deposited.
