These are some favorite stories from Malgudi days...

1. Doctors word : story about 2 friends, one is famous doctor and other his patient. Beautiful story about how faith trumps everything else.
2. Eswaran : story of a boy who constantly fails and finally clears with flying colors. But the way story pans it breaks your heart.
3. 45 a month : story about how a father has to choose between over burdening less paying job and promise made to daughter.
4. Cobbler and god : you have to read this just for understanding how perception plays role in life. i also liked other stories, gatekeepers gift, astrologer, Attila and blind man and dog but above four are my favorite.
