Let the age of Sailija be 'x' years .

♦Let the age of Payal be 'y' years .

 According to the given question =>

x + y = 29......................(1 )

( y - 3 ) - ( x - 3 ) = 5

y - 3 - x + 3 = 5

y - x = 5......................(2)

From (1) and (2)

2y = 34

y => 17  

x => 29 - 17

x => 12  

♦Hence present age of Salija is 12 years .

♦Present age of Payal is 17 years .
