Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fixed charges be ₹x and the other be ₹y per km

then x + 60y = 960 --- 1

and, x + 80y = 1260 --- 2

on subtracting (1) from (2) we get

20y = 300

y = 300/20

y = 15

putting y = 15 in (1), we get

x+(60*15) = 960

x = 960-900

x = 60

therefore fixed charges = ₹60 and the rate per km = ₹15 per km
