so according to first case,

(x+10)=2(y+10)

so x+10=2y+20

ie x=2y+10 (1)

according to second case

x-5=3(y-5)

x-5=3y-15

ie x-3y=-10 (2)

substitute value of x from (1) in (2)

we get

2y-3y=(-10-10)

ie -y=-20

so y=20

substitute it in (1)

we get

x=50

hence presently A is 50 years old and b is 20 years old
