Explanation:

Animals that do cause soil erosion fall into two categories.

Category one.

There are the wild animals that roam on the plains. In North Africa,on the Serengeti plains, during the rainy season, the wild animals migrate en-masse. Their stampede to get to higher and dryer terrain causes erosion on a massif scale. This erosion cannot be prevented unless we(humans)invade their turf. This action will be considered as artificial intervention(to limit erosion).

Category two.

Domesticated farm animals cause erosion by grazing, romping and galloping on a particular area of land…albeit the fact that they are going about their natural activities. However, for most of their lives, they are confined to the same environment, the same farm and the same landscape. Thus for decades and decades, they(the animals ) are (literally)treading on thin ground.

This erosion can be offset by farmers and herders allowing their animals to roam in other territories. This roaming is occurring less and less due to the fact that :

.farms are becoming smaller.

.less land is available.

.sprawling is occurring at a rapid pace.

.drought is more prevalent ,so farmers/herders do not allow their animals to venture into new territory where less water is available
