Question

The area of a parallelogram is 3/2 ares. Its base is 20 m. Find its height. (1 are = 100 m²)

Solution

Here, we are given with the area of parallelogram in terms of 'ares' i.e 3/2 ares also , it is mention in the question that 1 are = 100 m²

Area of Parallelogram = 3/2 ares

where , 1 are = 100 m²

So , Area of Parallelogram in terms of m² will be

\sf Area  \: of \:  Parallelogram =  \dfrac{3}{2}  \times 100

:↦\rm Area \:  of \:  Parallelogram = \dfrac{3}{ \cancel2} \times  \cancel{100}\\:↦ \sf Area  \: of \:  Parallelogram = 3 \times 50 \\ \sf :↦ Area \:  of  \: Parallelogram =  \red{150 \:  {m}^{2} }

Now , we got Area of Parallelogram = 150 m²

Here , in question we have to calculate height of Parallelogram.

Formula for Area of Parallelogram :-

Area of Parallelogram = Base × Height

Now , see we have both area and Base so let's make a subject formula for Height

 \sf Height =  \dfrac{Area  \: of  \: Parallelogram}{Base}

 \sf \: Height =  \dfrac{15 \cancel{0}}{2 \cancel{0}}   \\  \sf= \red{ 7.5 \: m}

So , here we got the respective height of Parallelogram = 7.5 m

Additional Information

Ares is a metric unit for measurement whose value is equal to 100 m² . 1 hectare = 100 ares this unit is used commonly in the measurement of land .
