  • The breadth of the rectangle = 40 m.

Given :-

  • The area of a rectangle is 2400 sq.m.
  • The length of that rectangle is 60 m.

To find :-

  • The breadth of the rectangle.

Step-by-step explanation :-

Let the breadth be x.

We know that :-

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth.

Since the area is 2400 sq.m,

Therefore after substituting the values, we get :-

(Lets ignore the units now for our convenience, we can add them in our answer later.)

 \bf 60 \times x = 2400

 \bf \: 60x = 2400

 \bf x =  \dfrac{2400}{60}

 \bf x = 40

Since x = 40 m,

Therefore the breadth (x) = 40 m.

Verification :-

To check our answer, we will just multiply the Length with the Breadth and check whether the area is 2400 sq.m or not.

Length = 60 m.

Breadth = 40 m.

Area = Length × Breadth.

So, the area = 60 m × 40 m = 2400 sq.m

Since the area is 2400 sq.m,

Hence verified! ✔️✔️

Given Area of rectangle = 2400 sq.m

Length of rectangle = 60 m

Let breadth be "b" metres

We know that Area of rectangle is l × b =

2400 = 60 × b

(Next we transform 60 to left side so it changes it division)

2400/60 = b

40 = b

Therefore breadth of rectangle is 40 m
